Kent Elastomer Acquires Dip-Molded Products From
Hospira
Kent, Ohio, Aug. 2, 2006 -- Kent Elastomer Products,
Inc., a division of Meridian Industries, Inc. has announced
that it has acquired the dip-molded products line of Hospira,
Inc.
Founded in 1960, Kent Elastomer is a leading provider of
dip-molded natural rubber latex and extruded TPE tubing
products as well as a manufacturer of latex or non-latex
dip-molded parts and PVC tubing.
Murray Van Epp, President of Kent Elastomer, commented,
“We are very excited at the opportunity to enhance
our capabilities in dip-molded products. This acquisition
will provide us with new materials (synthetic polyisoprene
and metal impregnated compounds) as well as improved dipping
technology and equipment. It expands our product offerings
to include bellows, specialty gloves, neck seals, and a
variety of other unique shapes and sizes.”
As a result of the acquisition, Kent Elastomer will be
constructing a 4,000 square foot addition and making substantial
plant infrastructure changes to its existing facilities
in Kent and Winesburg, Ohio, to accommodate the added equipment,
inspection, inventory, and personnel requirements.
