Kent Elastomer Products, Inc. (KEP), a subsidiary of Meridian Industries, announces that effective November 1st, 2011 the promotion of Robert Oborn to President after the long and distinguished career of the retiring Murray Van Epp.
Bob's career at KEP is a prime example of the company's philosophy of developing employees from within. He joined KEP as a general laborer over 30 years ago and took on more and more management responsibilities which included being promoted to VP of Manufacturing in 2000. In 2006 he was named Sr. Vice President, where he oversaw the development and implementation of Lean Manufacturing that has transformed the culture at KEP. Bob brings passion, dedication, and a wealth of knowledge to his new role.
Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and a Masters in Business Administration. He currently resides with his wife Annette, daughter Allison, and son Patrick in Munroe Falls Ohio. Bob is active in the local community; serving on the Stow - Munroe Falls Rotary Board and the Kent State University EMBA Alumni Advisory Board to name a few.
Kent Elastomer adds Vytex® Low Protein Natural Rubber Latex (NRL) to Product Offering
Kent, OH. . .Kent Elastomer Products, Inc., a subsidiary of Meridian Industries, Inc., and the world's leading manufacturer of dipped natural rubber latex tubing, has added Vytex® Low Protein Natural Rubber Latex to its Dip Molded product line.
For those customers who require a very low protein product, but still wish to retain the benefits associated with Natural Rubber Latex, the Vytex® product will be an appropriate choice. Vytex® NRL includes excellent liquid barrier protection, tactile sensitivity, elasticity, strength and comfort while retaining all of the positive characteristics of natural rubber latex. The product has virtually undetectable levels of the antigenic proteins as measured by today's standard protein tests.

Kent Elastomer Products Introduces New K-6100 Series PVC Replacement Technology
Kent, OH...Kent Elastomer Products, Inc., a subsidiary of Meridian Industries, Inc., and a leader in the manufacture of tubing products, introduces the K-6100 Series, a TPE material that can replace problematic PVC in fluid pathway systems.
The new PVC replacement meets Class VI standards and is ISO 10993-5 and ISO 10003-4 certified. Free of halogen, plasticizer, and animal derivatives, this tubing is recommended for use in fluid storage, transportation, and delivery of fluid to the body where PVC is used. It is autoclavable to 121ºC and is radiation sterilizable as well. Available in three durometers (65A, 75A, and 84A), the K-6100 Series offers high clarity and a non-stick surface. This material is non-toxic, non-hemolytic, and is both heat-weldable and solvent-bondable.
Kent Elastomer Products Introduces New K-9001 as a Low Cost Alternative to C-Flex®
Kent, OH...Kent Elastomer Products, Inc., a subsidiary of Meridian Industries Inc., and a leader in the manufacture of tubing products, introduces K-9001 Thermoplastic Rubber Tubing.
K-9001 is recommended for use in peristaltic pumps where abrasion-resistance is required. The K-9001 features easy sterilization, good chemical resistance, and is weather-resistant. This thermoplastic rubber tubing has a durometer range of 65 ± 5 and is autoclavable to 135° C.
The product meets the requirements of the FDA's Title 21 Section 177.1810 for food grade use and has passed testing for Class VI, cytotoxicity, and is non-hemolytic. Additional characteristics include:
- Cleaner and more eco-conscious
- Animal derivative-free
- Sealable and bondable
- Provides resistance to creeping at temperatures up to 275° F (135° C)

Kent Elastomer Products Adds New Polyisoprene Parts to Offering 
Kent, OH. . .Kent Elastomer Products, Inc., a subsidiary of Meridian Industries, Inc., and a leading provider of dip-molded parts for the medical market, has increased its choice of materials available within the company's dip molding technology.
Kent is now able to offer dip-molded parts made of synthetic polyisoprene. This material has the look, feel and physical properties of natural rubber latex. The material is translucent, possesses high temperature stability for sterilization and does not have the proteins associated with natural rubber latex, making it ideal for medical applications.
