It Takes A Team
There are countless reasons for projects to stall: Lack of resources. Supply chain problems. Not enough time.
But there are two ways they get done: Resilience…and teamwork.
Here’s an example. In May of 2022, a company came to us to make food grade tubing for one of their bag-in-box dispensing products – a product line we are adept at producing.
However, the specs for this project required some variations, including different raw materials. Today’s world of supply chain demands and limitations make only the most proactive companies nimble enough to change course so quickly.
KEP knows this and has built a deep bench of supply chain resources to help us respond to production emergencies just like this.
Rather than table our project to buy more time to source the right materials, we tapped into our bank of contacts and relationships, asked all the right questions and within three days we had a new option that solved our problem.
This is more than just a phone call. This required fast, nimble responses and ingenuity from teams across the organization.
One team dug deeper into our contacts to find available sourcing. Another team simultaneously checked references. Others established pricing. From reference checks to establishing our newest supplier as a vendor to account setups for invoicing and billing, everybody was in sync to make sure this project went from stalled – to success!
Only a nimble organization can move quickly. Only a customer-first team can come together so quickly – in this case, just three days – to solve the problem.
Since then, the new client received their 50,000 part prototype order and gave us the go-ahead to produce 250,000 units, which will grow to 450,000 units every six weeks in May of 2023. This is just one of many examples of how Teamwork is the only way we work at KEP.
