Resistant Compound

Used for a variety of outdoor and marine applications, the neoprene rubber compound is a highly resistant material that stands up against a multitude of factors. Neoprene is ideal for use in a wide range of industries, such as medical, sports and recreation, and food and beverage. Invented by DuPont in 1931, where it was called polychloroprene, neoprene rubber is produced by the polymerization of chloroprene which helps the compound resist degradation more than natural or synthetic rubber. Neoprene rubber features resistance to flames, oil (moderate), weather, including ozone and natural aging, abrasion and flex cracking, and alkalis and acids.

The Advantages of KEP Neoprene

KEP neoprene compounds also feature excellent adhesion to fabrics and metals which makes it a durable choice for many products. Our customers in the medical industry, sports and leisure industry and beyond use neoprene compounds for waterproofing and insulation, in addition to other environmental factors that need addressed. We’ll work with you to ensure your neoprene product can hold up to the demands of your industry.

Dip-Molded Products from KEP

KEP offers high quality neoprene rubber compounds used to create dip-molded products. Neoprene dip molding is the highly versatile and cost-efficient process of dipping a mold into neoprene runner to create a component. Neoprene dip-molded products can be manufactured in a range of wall thicknesses, and have an attractive finish that offers protection. Dip-molded applications for neoprene rubber include sports equipment, handles and grips for appliances, and many other uses. Offered in a natural cream color, KEP can match our neoprene to virtually any color specification in order to manufacture the exact products our customers want.
