For over 15 years, Kent Elastomer Products has been a sponsor of the FIRST® Robotics Competition. This year – for the 2019 FIRST Robotics Competition Season, KEP is a silver level supplier! Over the years, we have donated thousands of feet of latex tubing to be used in kits. Every year student participants receive a kit of materials to build a robot and complete a specific challenge – like designing a robot that can battle an opponent.
FIRST® has inspired millions of young people to reach for the stars for over 30 years! Project-based, hands-on FIRST programs introduce students to coding, programming, and engineering in an environment where students work collaboratively to solve each year’s robotics challenge.
The FIRST Robotics Competition is an international high school robotics competition that gives students real-world engineering experience. The positive impact on FIRST Robotics Competition participants is gratifying and well documented. Over 88% have more interest in doing well in school and 92% are more interested in attending college.
We’re excited to see what the 2019 season has in store for these talented students. We’re proud to help sponsor a competition that fosters such a positive impact on our young learners!
