Our Mission to Give Back
This season – and every season – we are so thankful for our team members!
Our generous and kindhearted team members help make our community contributions possible. KEP believes giving back to the community is fundamental for businesses and it is an important part of our mission. We demonstrate our commitment to being a good neighbor in our local communities in several ways throughout the year.
A group of KEP employees serve dinner at Kent Social Services every other month. Kent Social Services has an open dinner for anyone who needs it every Thursday evening. We also prepare a meal for 75 residents at the Ronald McDonald House of Akron four times per year.
Our signature fundraising program also involves the Ronald McDonald House of Akron. We do a fundraising drive in our facilities where our employees can donate a weekly amount that goes to the Ronald McDonald House of Akron and KEP matches it.
This money goes to sponsor a room, which costs $5,000 a year to operate, to provide community families a home nearby their children who are being treated at local hospitals. Last year, we were able to sponsor five rooms after raising and matching funds for a combined total of $26,270. KEP has again chosen the Ronald McDonald House of Akron as our sponsored organization for 2020. We are excited to see how much we raise!
